AMCO
American Moistening Company (AMCO), an ISO-9001-2000 certified organization, operates through four divisions: Commercial/Industrial Humidification Control Systems, Water Treatment Systems, Gas Turbine Cooling/Fogging Systems, and its Control Panel Division.
Originally established in Providence, Rhode Island in 1888, AMCO initially produced conventional air washers using compressed air atomization to meet the humidification and air handling needs of the textile industry. In 1929, the company relocated to North Carolina, aligning with the textile industry’s shift to the Southeast. During its early years, AMCO specialized in air washers and compressed air atomization systems for textiles.
In the 1970s, AMCO diversified into new industries that required more cost-effective air humidification solutions. This led to the development of its direct spray, high-pressure water system, a technology that has since been widely implemented across the textile, woodworking, printing, automotive, and industrial HVAC sectors. Leveraging its expertise in high-pressure systems, AMCO also entered the gas turbine inlet air cooling market, providing advanced humidification and cooling solutions tailored to various industrial needs.

Gas Turbine
AMCO’s Inlet Cooling Systems enhance the power output of gas turbines. Our Direct Spray Inlet Cooling System features one or more skid-mounted positive displacement pumps that deliver demineralized water at a pressure of 3,000 psi (207 bar). This water is supplied to a network of seamless stainless steel headers, which are connected to stainless steel nozzle manifolds positioned downstream of the filter housing. This innovative design ensures efficient cooling and improved turbine performance.
Engineering Control Panels
American Moistening Company offers custom-designed controls tailored to each installation, whether they are Digital Controllers or advanced Computerized Controllers, such as PLCs. Our sophisticated and user-friendly PLCs are specifically engineered for multi-zone humidification, ensuring precise control and adaptability across various environments.
